What You'll Be Doing
- Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, preparing correspondence, reports, and presentations for government and senior personnel.
- Schedule and coordinate project interactions within existing and occupied facilities.
- Manage interdisciplinary teams of professionals and support staff.
- Integrate competing or conflicting elements into planning and execution processes for smooth project flow.
- Utilize experience with Federal and Local Government office building projects, including procedural, review, and approval requirements.
- Mobilize company resources by liaising with support departments, other offices, or subsidiaries to form effective project teams.
- Discuss key project position qualifications with profit center and department managers.
- Collaborate with office facilities staff on project space requirements.
- Act as the Company representative with clients and subcontractors during program execution.
- Negotiate scope of work changes with clients and key subcontractors, and market/secure additional work.
- Follow up on instructions and commitments related to the project.
- Participate in negotiations with regulatory agencies and public meetings as needed.
- Oversee the establishment of Project Execution Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Quality Assurance/Quality Control Plans, and other required documents.
- Establish program requirements and ensure draft and final deliverables adhere to these criteria.
- Develop and distribute a concise project description to the project team.
- Collaborate with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads on budgets, schedules, and project plans.
- Ensure projects meet or exceed established goals.
- Devise and execute action plans to address potential cost overruns, delays, or scope changes.
- Advise clients and company management on any significant changes.
- Maintain current and timely change orders.
- Promote technical and commercial excellence through Quality Assurance processes.
- Monitor and report project progress, milestones, costs, and schedule impacts to management.
- Establish weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or a related technical/business field.
- 15+ years of related engineering management experience on large-scale programs.
- Broad general technical and business background.
- Proven ability to manage projects, interface with clients, and remain hands-on technically, including involvement in project designs.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards.
- Must meet Parsons' project management certification requirements.
- Proven ability to perform in a management capacity.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
