Job Summary
ShoreOne is looking for a dynamic finance professional with 5-10 years of P&C insurance experience to manage its accounting/finance organization. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic, hands-on finance/accounting professional with strong GAAP and SAP accounting skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and experience with Oracle NetSuite Financial Solutions and Workday. They should be an effective project and time manager, a proactive leader who implements process improvements, and capable of managing third-party relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the CFO on the day-to-day Finance function.
- Develop, in partnership with the CFO, the annual and multi-year financial plan for the ShoreOne Group, focusing on profitable growth.
- Manage and execute monthly GAAP book closes, related internal controls, and monthly submissions into the parent company.
- Deliver monthly financial analysis against annual budgets and plans, identifying performance gaps and proposing solutions.
- Manage all financial systems, including NetSuite.
- Oversee annual external audit procedures and relationships.
- Standardize monthly control processes for all ShoreOne companies.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all accounting and finance activities.
- Assist with ad hoc reporting as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, And/Or Abilities
- Sound understanding of U.S. GAAP and designing/maintaining internal controls.
- Experience with US GAAP audit procedures.
- Working knowledge of Oracle NetSuite platform.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to travel up to 15%.
- May be required to work overtime.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) organizations.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelors Degree from a respected university.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 5-7 years working with P&C insurance companies, MGAs, or related businesses.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration
- CPA preferred but not required. Active license not required.
