We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at Trenton Systems. This role is pivotal in the development of our next-generation computer systems, focusing on processor boards and peripheral components. The successful candidate will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of electrical design, from initial product definition through to production release. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-speed electronic systems within a collaborative environment that values innovation and technical excellence. The Electrical Design Engineer will play a key role in designing, reviewing, and supporting the manufacturing of sophisticated computer hardware tailored for mission-critical applications.Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or an equivalent qualification. A minimum of 10 years of experience in an electrical engineering design capacity is required, with demonstrated expertise in developing complex electronic systems. Hands-on experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools is essential, along with a proven track record of bringing new boards from concept to operational status. Familiarity with Intel architectures, including dual socket Xeon and server-class platforms, is highly desirable. Knowledge of high-speed interconnects such as DDR, PCIe, UPI, and USB will be advantageous. The candidate should have experience working within multidisciplinary teams, coordinating efforts across mechanical, software, and hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration and performance. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to support manufacturing and testing teams are critical for success in this role.Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive electrical design activities, including schematic creation, PCB layout, and documentation generation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Create and review design output documentation such as schematics, drawings, and parts lists to facilitate manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Support manufacturing resources by providing technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance during production.
- Collaborate with test personnel to support testing procedures, identify issues, and implement solutions to improve product reliability and performance.
- Assist the Engineering Manager with special projects, providing technical expertise and innovative solutions.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables by tracking design plans and milestones, ensuring timely completion of engineering tasks.
- Participate in design review meetings, offering engineering insights and ensuring designs meet technical and quality standards.
- Act as a customer support resource, addressing technical inquiries and providing solutions for hardware-related issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and product innovations, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
