Water Infrastructure Regional Manager: Western Region
Mueller, a leading manufacturer of flow control devices for the water and gas distribution industries, has an immediate opening for a Regional Manager in the Western Region. This role reports to the Vice President of Infrastructure Sales West.
The Western Region spans 9 states: Montana, Idaho, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, Alaska, and Hawaii. The Regional Manager (RM) will oversee all aspects of the region's sales area and personnel for Infrastructure water products, including product lines such as Mueller Co., Henry Pratt, and HYMAX. The RM will collaborate with assigned employees and other Mueller personnel to achieve sales objectives. This position offers the opportunity to expand knowledge of the water & distribution industry and sales strategies, along with a competitive salary, sales incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish sales strategies, goals, and objectives for individual territories to meet Region budget targets.
- Directly supervise, develop, and coach all assigned employees, some of whom may have dual reporting relationships.
- Cultivate high-impact, strategic relationships with key distributors and end-users to influence specifications, drive regional growth, and maximize revenue and profitability.
- Align sales operations with Mueller Co.'s Strategy Deployment (SD) and other company-wide objectives.
- Promote new and existing products to the end-user community to establish favorable specifications for Mueller products.
- Consult with sales personnel and key customers to resolve service or quality issues, protecting customer relationships and business performance.
- Evaluate significant bid opportunities and recommend pricing strategies to senior management to maximize revenue and profits.
- Monitor individual territory progress and implement corrective actions when performance falls short of goals.
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales team through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
- Manage regional business planning, forecasting, and execution in alignment with Mueller’s enterprise objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive sales expertise and understanding of Mueller's market strategies.
- Demonstrated experience working with municipal authorities, utilities, and infrastructure stakeholders, including key distributors.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of overall sales or sales-related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates without a degree but with significant work experience will be considered and may be required to complete this educational requirement post-hire.
- Ability for extensive domestic travel as required by projects and work responsibilities.
- Must reside within the assigned Region and be located near a major airport to facilitate travel.
