About the role
Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, manage the full product lifecycle including sourcing, marketing, new product development, sales support, and financial growth of beauty cotton, casting, and splinting products. This role involves working with and training sales forces to confidently sell products to customers and may include direct reports at the Manager level.
Responsibilities
Negotiate pricing with vendors for raw materials and finished goods. Visit vendors to develop products and train personnel in all aspects of each product and its usages. Coordinate materials with vendors and develop custom finished items.
Provide coaching and training to the product management team. Serve as a resource and provide project oversight.
Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans and promotional programs for existing products, including product strategy development, pricing strategy, collateral creation, and brand management.
Review monthly financial performance and identify contributing factors. Offer solutions for detrimental sales or cost trends. Prepare product forecasts, including revenue and expense expectations. Analyze sales trends over time and the impact of competitive strategies. Support forecasts and budgets with detailed marketing plans.
Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to reduce the Cost of Goods by assessing packaging, alternate materials, new sources of material, stocking, make-to-order processes, direct-to-customer shipments, etc. Manage inventory by focusing on eliminating surplus and optimizing SKU count.
Develop and deliver training materials for internal stakeholders, sales forces, and customers. Create sales tools.
Conduct effective market research and translate that research into new products, product improvements, or line extensions by providing leadership to a multi-functional team.
Travel with the sales force to support efforts to convert customers to purchase Medline products. Provide timely follow-up to sales forces by answering product questions via email and phone.
Develop and mentor staff through onboarding, open communication, training and development opportunities, and performance management processes. Build and maintain employee morale and motivation; ensure the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies.
Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 4 years of experience in marketing, sales, product management, or clinical practice in the healthcare industry.
- Experience negotiating with outside vendors and internal resources.
- Experience collecting and analyzing financial data.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Word.
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Intermediate skill in Microsoft Excel.
