Responsibilities
- Leads a team preparing estimates and cost planning for a portfolio and/or projects, adhering to estimating procedures.
- Accountable for compiling team and preliminaries schedules and collaborating with internal and external teams as and when required.
- Coordinates measurement exercises, including preparation of schedules of quantities.
- Manages benchmarking exercises to test the estimate.
- Oversees the quality assurance of estimates within the project ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Presents complex estimating and risk modelling data to stakeholders, interpreting and providing recommendations for both a technical and non-technical audience.
- Co-ordinates and works in collaboration with Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
- Presents the estimate work to key stakeholders demonstrating a full knowledge and understanding of the project.
- Analyses quotations as part of the compilation of the estimate.
- Provides senior management and stakeholders with estimating analysis insight, modelling scenarios solutions and options, leveraging commercial knowledge.
- Co-ordinates and works in collaboration with Project peers and leaders.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding the cost of construction.
- Understanding and knowledge of construction costs.
- Proficient in the measurement of building quantities.
- Understands the design process and outputs.
- Knowledge of the tender process and the traditional stages.
- An understanding and appreciation of profit and overhead including risk & opportunity management.
- Understanding & Knowledge of the sector.
- Degree (or equivalent) with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in opportunity management , construction and costs.
- Expertise in Pure Estimating.
- Understanding and expertise of the Procurement market including Public Frameworks.
