About The Role
As an Administration Officer within the Billing Department, you will play a key role in supporting the wider team with pathology billing and general medical administration duties. This position requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Billing Officers and internal teams to ensure the smooth, accurate, and timely processing of billing activities.
- Process Medicare, Health Fund, and manual billing daily, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Medicare requirements, health fund rules, and organisational policies.
- Review and follow up on Medicare and Health Fund rejections.
- Conduct daily reviews of held billing batches to ensure timely resolution.
- Reconcile payments received and investigate discrepancies as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient and billing records across relevant systems.
- Investigate and resolve billing queries via phone, email, and in person, handling all enquiries professionally and sensitively.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within billing systems and processes.
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of service standards, performance metrics, and quality indicators.
- Assist in the development and review of policies and procedures.
- Ensure all patient and financial information is handled in accordance with privacy and confidentiality requirements.
