About the Role

Zet je kennis van blockchaintechnologie in bij KBC Group en bouw mee aan de toekomst van de financiële sector. The opportunity is clear: with blockchain, transactions are possible at any moment, in real time, and without intermediaries – including conditional transactions. Digital assets are already transforming the US banking system via stablecoins. Europe could soon follow suit. As a functional or technical expert in blockchain technology and digital assets, you will strengthen an international team that is seizing this momentum. Together with your colleagues, you will examine the benefits of digital assets from both a technical and customer-oriented perspective, integrate them into our offering, and gradually expand them in the coming years. What makes this vacancy unique? It is a job at the intersection of finance, technology, and financial regulation. You are not contributing to a 'blockchain experiment', but creating a strategic platform that will provide added value for our European customers.

What we expect from you?

You will be part of KBC Group's Digital Assets program, where you will set up a strategic platform for stablecoins, tokenized deposits, tokenised funds, and smart contracts together with colleagues. On this platform, you will create reusable building blocks that can be used across different countries and business lines for various use cases. Within a strictly regulated context, you will ensure that these building blocks are technically robust, scalable, and compliant. Depending on your background, strengths, and interest, you will focus on:

• Technical design: focus on security, availability, auditability…
• Solution architecture: translating requirements into an end-to-end technical architecture; maintaining consistency; examining non-functional requirements from a risk management perspective; guiding development teams…
• Digital assets engineering: implementing blockchain and DLT components; integrating wallets, key management, and HSM/MPC-based signing flows; reviewing smart contracts; providing technical support…

Your strengths?

• You have a bachelor's or master's degree and a thorough knowledge of blockchain technology, which you are eager to continuously expand and deepen.
• Like your colleagues, you enjoy achieving ambitious goals together with others. You are flexible, driven, and determined.
• You are motivated by thinking solution-oriented and customer-oriented, knowing that the financial sector is highly regulated. The challenge and complexity of this context appeal to you.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English. You can clearly explain technical matters in both languages.
