As a Product Manager in Merchant Services, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. Bring your product management expertise to Billing, Pricing, and Revenue Optimization, where you'll use user research, customer feedback, and performance metrics to help build new capabilities and continuously improve existing offerings.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers.
- Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap.
- Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition.
- Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability.
- Partner with Operations, Product Management, and field teams to identify and validate product opportunities through user research and discovery, grounded in customer needs and market dynamics.
- Evaluate and plan for upstream and downstream impacts of new features to ensure a cohesive, end-to-end product experience.
- Support user research, journey mapping, and market analysis to inform the strategic roadmap and surface customer-value features.
- Define, monitor, and evaluate product performance metrics (e.g., work-to-time, cost, and quality targets) across the product development lifecycle.
- Author clear, actionable requirements, epics, and user stories to guide delivery teams from concept through implementation.
- Own assigned deliverables end-to-end, including synthesizing insights, driving execution, and presenting recommendations and outcomes to senior leadership.
- Lead tactical and strategic billing enhancements and implementations, coordinating stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and adoption.
- Develop and manage billing and revenue analytics to support accurate, complete billing of products and services and identify optimization opportunities.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area.
- Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics.
- Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.
- 3+ years of experience (or equivalent expertise) in billing, revenue management and optimization or a relevant domain.
- Developing strength in data analytics and data literacy; ability to use metrics to drive prioritization and outcomes.
- Demonstrated strength in analytical research and structured problem-solving.
- In-depth knowledge of the Merchant Acquiring industry, operating principles, and procedures.
- Confidence presenting to C-level executives (written and verbal).
- Proven track record managing cross-functional initiatives from initiation through delivery.
- Ability to learn quickly, ask insightful questions, and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel, plus familiarity with business databases/tools.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
- Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; 5+ years in the Merchant Services industry preferred.
- Highly analytical and creative problem-solver who can assess technical landscapes, identify patterns/opportunities, build business cases, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing demands.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory considerations related to billing, with a strong commitment to a robust controls environment; ability to identify revenue opportunities, key risks, and practical mitigants.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake (e.g., leveraging cloud data warehouse capabilities for analytics, reporting, and data-driven decisioning).
