Job Summary
As a Product Analyst at Independence Pet Holdings, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the world of pet insurance. You will identify data and market trends and business opportunities to enhance and innovate our pet insurance products. Working closely with the Product Manager, you will utilize your problem solving and analytical skills to present data-driven insights to inform key decisions and ensure our pet insurance offerings remain competitive and customer-centric. You will be responsible for providing performance analytics for the carrier and our Managing General Agencies focusing on profitable growth, and product plans that align with strategic needs.

Job Location
Key Responsibilities
- Analyzes product and portfolio P&L performance, identifies growth opportunities, assesses new product metrics, and evaluates initiatives to uncover issues. Provides strategic recommendations and implements improvements to drive profitable growth.
- Develops and enhances reports and tools which support better decision-making for our business partners.
- Become and act as subject matter expert in specific pet insurance contracts, products and rating structures, within the confines of the products they are assigned.
- Constructs, and works with, structured information and data sets from multiple sources to generate analytical insights, following best practices for data retrieval and ensuring data integrity across products.
- Conducts ad hoc analyses to address and resolve emerging business challenges.
- Supports the exploration and analysis of key data points to support on-going monitoring, maintenance, and underwriting of existing products.
- Collaborates with key stakeholders, such as Actuarial and Underwriting, to identify portfolio insights, emerging trends, and profit opportunities, enhancing performance and mitigating risk.
- Consults on portfolio strategy, through the lens of data and analytical trends
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in product performance analytics, insurance pricing, and/or underwriting.
- Strong visualization and presentation skills for reporting and analytics, with proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Proven ability to collect, analyse, and synthesize data, with experience using tools such as SAS, SQL, R, Python, or equivalent to support informed product decisions.
- Knowledge or experience in veterinary or animal health (specifically dogs and cats) is highly desirable.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex ideas, product details and analysis to both technical and non-technical internal audiences, as well as management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment.
