Job Overview
The Engineered Solutions Specialist at Hilti North America is responsible for maximizing the specification and sales of designed engineered solutions and calculation services. This role involves identifying target applications, creating designed solutions, providing bid packages to contractors, convincing winning bidders to use Hilti solutions, and ensuring full product and service delivery. The position focuses on delivering modular solutions and services for installation systems product line to top customers and projects.
What You'll Do
- Scan project databases and assess attractive projects based on applications, competitive market, contractor capabilities, and evolving project funnel.
- Specify and provide engineered solutions for overhead grid, raised floor, pipe/cable tray supports, seismic bracing, and E&I stands, ensuring practical application and market competitiveness.
- Support BIM services by delivering engineering designs and addressing client technical questions during coordination meetings.
- Build contractor relationships by creating and actively participating in bid packages, promoting Hilti as an engineered solution provider.
- Sell engineered solutions to winning bidders, overcome objections, close deals, and support submittals, cross-selling related Hilti products.
- Coach Account Managers on key project types, applications, and products to enhance their technical competence.
- Collaborate with PMO to gather information and manage change requests between PMO and customers.
- Support interface with 3rd party engineering and design partners.
- Generate Marketing Support Services (MSS) requests and monitor project delivery progress and timelines.
- Track successes/failures, provide ROI assessments, and offer product management feedback.
- Leverage Technical Back-Office, Hilti Field Engineers, Regional Managers, and Account Managers as needed.
- Oversee and review Bill of Materials (BOM) and final order fulfillment.
- Provide expert recommendations to engineers, architects, and designers on specific applications, educating them on Hilti solutions' technical advantages.
- Conduct professional educational seminars and presentations for A&E firms on Hilti products, performance, applications, and limitations.
- Maintain accurate records of contacts and specifications using Hilti technology resources.
- Coordinate jobsite management within CRM (SFDC), including creation of specific jobsites and applications, and participate in monthly sales management meetings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- B.S. in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- 3+ years of engineering experience in seismic bracing, pipe support design, or custom fabrication, OR 5+ years Hilti experience designing installation systems in the US or Canada.
- Professional engineering license (civil or structural) and familiarity with US/Canadian steel design preferred.
- Proven success in selling value-added and/or engineered solutions to contractors/end-users.
- Familiarity with project plans, specifications, and commercial terms.
- Good communication and project management skills.
