About the Role

Heartland Bank Australia is seeking an Information Security & IT Risk Analyst to join their team in Melbourne, Australia. This role is pivotal in enhancing the bank's cyber security posture by assessing information security and IT risks, supporting security operations, and providing expert advice to ensure the security and resilience of systems, vendors, and processes. You will uphold ethical standards and integrity, aligning your work with Heartland’s Values and customer outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct information security risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Perform IT risk assessments and test controls.
  • Assess the security of vendors and third parties.
  • Support cyber security operations and incident response efforts.
  • Engage with stakeholders and provide advisory services.
  • Generate security reports, maintain documentation, and drive continuous improvement.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in conducting cyber and IT risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Expertise in vendor and third-party security risk assessments.
  • Ability to interpret and respond to cyber security threats.
  • Familiarity with security tooling and methodologies for detecting, analyzing, and mitigating vulnerabilities.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and threat intelligence.
  • Capacity to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Ideally, You Will Also Bring Experience With

  • Blue, purple, or red team activities.
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM).
  • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions.
  • Securing hybrid cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
  • Zero Trust principles and practices.
  • Cyber security frameworks such as NIST or MITRE ATT&CK.

Qualifications/Certifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a dedicated security-focused IT role.
  • Relevant cyber security, information security, or IT risk qualifications are desirable.
