Senior Site Reliability Engineer

About The Role

Fivetran is looking for a high-performance engineer to be a part of a team of Site Reliability Engineers. You will be working closely with engineering teams, product managers, as well as support and sales engineers to build the future of the Fivetran Data Platform Reliability.

As a member of the Site Reliability Engineering team, you will contribute to the overall performance and reliability of Fivetran’s infrastructure by monitoring, alerting, and initial incident response. You will support the deployment pipeline by working alongside senior SREs. You will gain valuable experience in effective incident response and issue avoidance, becoming a key player in Fivetran’s growing SRE team.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for monitoring the availability, capacity, and throughput of Fivetran's production infrastructure to identify and address potential issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate reliability best practices into the product roadmap.
• Support the prioritization and resolution of critical bugs identified by support or sales.
• Contribute to maintaining 100% availability of production infrastructure by collaborating with engineering to implement automation for scalable deployments.
• Proactively monitor infrastructure vulnerabilities and collaborate with the security team to address them in a timely manner.

Outcomes

By month 1:

• Ramp up with Fivetran technology stack and architecture.
• Develop general awareness of all areas of Fivetran's codebase and infrastructure.
• Start monitoring the Fivetran platform.
• Start contributing to incident post-mortems.

By month 2:

• Deliver the task that is being assigned.

By month 6:

• Deliver the project tasks that are being assigned.

Competencies

• 5+ years of experience working with SaaS products at scale.
• Working experience of Kubernetes administration.
• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms and related tooling: AWS, GCP, Terraform, configuration management.
• Experience in Python/Shell scripting. Bonus if you have Java also.
• Experience with Linux operating systems internals and administration.
• Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire compensation for the target position and level, and may include sales incentives or target bonuses depending on the role. Our compensation ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Our job titles may span more than one career level. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, business need, market demands. Denver Pay Range: $149,927.34—$179,920 USD
