EIB Trainee - Group Information Systems Directorate - Digital Transformation & Innovation Department

The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit a Trainee for the Group Information Systems Directorate (GIS) - Digital Transformation & Innovation Department (DTI) - Digital Transformation Office Division (DTO), based in Luxembourg.

Objective of the Traineeship

This traineeship aims to immerse you in the EIBG’s Innovation and Transformation ecosystem. You will gain hands-on experience with innovation methodologies, new ways of working, new technologies, emerging trends, and practical transformation initiatives. You will contribute to real projects, support the Innovation Lab’s activities, and help foster a culture of creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in workshops and innovation activities, including preparation, logistics, and facilitation support.
  • Help with prototyping and experimentation, documenting insights and coordinating with business/IT teams.
  • Contribute to communication and engagement efforts, such as SharePoint updates, drafting messages, and creating visuals for the internal Innovation community.
  • Provide support for events like innovation awards, Hackathons, and showcases.

Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills

  • Currently in the final year of studies or hold a University degree in Innovation, Digitalisation, or IT.
  • Curiosity & Learning Agility: Eager to explore new ideas, technologies, and trends, with a strong willingness to learn, experiment, and adapt.
  • Analytical & Critical Thinking: Ability to translate insights into practical innovation opportunities.
  • Creativity & Problem Solving: Capacity to understand problems, analyze needs, challenge assumptions, and generate ideas during ideation sessions.
  • Digital & Innovation Mindset: Awareness of emerging technologies and innovation practices, with an interest in how digital solutions create business and societal value.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of another EU language is an advantage.
