About the role
Senior AI Software Engineer
Emerson is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer to design and develop AI-enabled software solutions for their Test & Measurement business unit, NI. This role will focus on accelerating productivity using tools like Microsoft Copilot and the Power Platform, rapidly prototyping ideas, and integrating applications with enterprise systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop AI-enabled software solutions using Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on ideas, learning new technologies quickly.
- Integrate applications with enterprise systems (Microsoft ecosystem, Snowflake, Salesforce, Oracle).
- Collaborate with product owners, analysts, and business partners to deliver value.
- Build reusable patterns and guide others in effective use of AI tools.
- Navigate ambiguity, adapt to shifting priorities, and maintain high standards for software quality, security, and reliability.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including delivery of production-quality applications.
- Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language, with experience in Python and modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, or similar).
- Demonstrated experience building applications that integrate LLM APIs (OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.).
- Experience developing full-stack applications, integrating AI capabilities into intuitive user interfaces and stable back-end services.
- Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms, including containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search concepts.
- Proven ability to rapidly prototype solutions, validate approaches, and iterate quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and demonstrate technology to business partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Azure AI services (Azure OpenAI, Cognitive Services, AI Foundry).
- Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen).
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake).
- Experience with MLOps tools and model lifecycle practices.
- Knowledge of industrial, manufacturing, or test & measurement domains.
- Prior experience collaborating within globally distributed teams.
