About the Role
DHL Supply Chain is seeking an Implementation General Manager to spearhead new start-up operations within our Technology sector. This role is crucial for providing strategic and operational leadership throughout the implementation and launch of new business opportunities, ensuring successful execution from initial start-up through transition into a fully operational environment. Candidates must possess General Manager-level experience or Senior Operations Manager experience with full P&L ownership. Experience in start-up implementation, launching new operations, establishing processes, stabilizing performance, and supporting customer implementations is highly preferred. Strong customer-facing experience is a must, including building relationships, effective communication, managing expectations, and serving as a trusted operational partner. The role also requires leading complex operations, developing teams, and fostering a strong site culture. Experience with Tier 1 Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
- Lead and motivate a team of Operations Managers and staff, providing coaching, guidance, and support while developing a strong team culture.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and oversee operational and personnel activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), automation, and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective services and supplies, operating the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
- Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and key metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead customer relationships by maintaining close daily contact to ensure strong connections and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for the site's profit and loss (P&L), which is directly influenced by customer relationships.
- Prepare and present Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews (MBR/QBR) to customers, leveraging strong team collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- General Manager experience OR Senior Operations Manager experience with full P&L ownership
- Proven full P&L management experience with demonstrated financial accountability
- Required experience building and developing strong site culture and high-performing teams
- Required experience working with Tier 1 WMS solutions (Blue Yonder, Manhattan, or comparable enterprise systems)
- Required experience working directly with customers and managing customer relationships
- Required ability to travel approximately 80%
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading start-up operations and new facility implementations
- Experience supporting large-scale customer implementations
- Strong background in continuous improvement and operational excellence methodologies
Education and Experience
- 5+ years managerial/supervisory experience, required
- 2+ years of experience in a supply chain, warehousing or distribution environment, required
