Core Responsibilities

Oversee month-end close, financial statement preparation, general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Research and implement best-in-class accounting software solutions.
Manage annual budgets and forecasting processes.
Handle financial statement management for the division.
Drive the financial architecture for an emerging two-sided platform connecting pet parents with service providers, requiring expertise in marketplace accounting (ASC 606 revenue recognition, payment processor reconciliations, escrow liability management).
Account for internally developed software.
Ensure GAAP compliance, robust internal controls, and scalable systems to support rapid growth.
Partner cross-functionally with operations, product, and engineering teams to design accounting policies for new features, implement ERP enhancements, and manage audit relationships and tax strategies.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
8+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience.
Technical experience in digital marketplace platforms is highly preferred.
CPA and/or Big 4 background is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Experience managing teams and a strong team player attitude.
Demonstrated sense of urgency and bias for action.
