Overview:
The Portfolio Strategist will play a key role on the Portfolio Strategy & Research team at Citi, reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Strategy. The role focuses on developing investment insights across asset classes, communicating CIO house views, and producing actionable research and portfolio recommendations for advisors and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to investment research and asset allocation views.
- Translate macroeconomic and market insights into portfolio recommendations.
- Develop and maintain financial models and tools to evaluate portfolio strategy.
- Partner with senior strategists and investment leadership to create client-ready materials.
- Monitor macroeconomic data, market trends, and portfolio risks.
- Assist in the creation of thematic portfolios for various client segments.
- Maintain high research standards and rigorous analytical output.
- Optimize team workflows, tools, and research processes.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in investment research, portfolio construction, or management is required. Candidates should have a strong understanding of asset allocation theory, macroeconomics, and capital markets. Proficiency with Bloomberg, FactSet, Excel, PowerPoint is essential; familiarity with Python and Tableau is a plus. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset are necessary, along with a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or CFA preferred).
