Job Description
About Bending Spoons
At Bending Spoons, we are dedicated to building exceptional companies that serve a vast customer base, foster employee growth, operate with peak efficiency, generate extraordinary value for shareholders, and uphold high ethical standards. We achieve this by acquiring and enhancing digital businesses for long-term operation, implementing deep transformations to drive innovation, benefit customers, and improve business performance. Our culture is characterized by minimal hierarchy, small, talent-dense teams, and the agility of a startup applied to established products. We deeply integrate AI to enhance human judgment and machine intelligence.
The Opportunity
For a talented, driven, and collaborative individual, Bending Spoons offers an unparalleled opportunity to learn, make a significant impact, and accelerate career progression. We are seeking a Junior UX/UI Designer to shape high-leverage product experiences, design exceptional UI and UX from concept to delivery, and ensure intuitive, effective, and delightful user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Shape high-leverage product experiences.
- Design exceptional UI and UX—from early concepts to polished delivery—using the best available tools to explore more directions, move faster, and raise the quality bar.
- Ensure every experience is intuitive, effective, and delightful.
- Design with AI: Utilize AI agents to transform rough ideas into interactive prototypes, integrate them with the design system, iterate using natural-language feedback, and generate production-ready frontend code.
- Prototype to validate: Move rapidly between lo-fi exploration and production-realistic prototypes to stress-test interactions and accelerate development.
- Co-create with PMs and engineers from day one: Define UX requirements early, remain involved through QA and release, and make engineering-aware design decisions.
- Measure and improve: Track funnels, retention, and adoption. Use qualitative and quantitative signals to assess design effectiveness and refine future iterations.
- Identify the highest-leverage opportunities from the backlog, align stakeholders, and deliver improvements that unlock business value.
What We Look For
- Reasoning ability: Ability to solve complex problems, think from first principles, structure ideas sharply, resist biases, and focus on critical details.
- Drive: Extreme ambition, initiative, effort, and tenacity, coupled with a strong sense of responsibility and a commitment to continuous self-improvement.
- Team spirit: Generosity, a focus on supporting the best ideas, a willingness to assist team members, and a commitment to honesty and transparency.
- Proficiency in English: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What We Offer
- Incredibly talented, entrepreneurial teams: Work in small, result-oriented, autonomous teams with exceptionally bright individuals.
- Exceptional opportunity for growth: We prioritize hiring individuals of outstanding potential and placing them in roles where they can thrive, leading to rapid career advancement and significant project responsibilities.
- Competitive pay and equity: Attractive salaries (e.g., €66,065 in Europe for early career roles) and the opportunity to receive company equity at a discounted price. Potential for higher compensation based on exceptional capability and impact.
- Comprehensive benefits: Flexible hours, remote working options, unlimited learning and training support, top-tier health insurance, generous relocation assistance, parental support, and an annual company retreat.
- Tax benefits: A potential 50% tax cut for those relocating to Italy.
Commitment & Contract
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Location
Milan (Italy), London (UK), Madrid (Spain), Warsaw (Poland), or remote in selected countries.
The Selection Process
We prioritize verifiable signals of excellence over seniority. Do not hesitate to apply if you believe you can excel, even if you feel your experience is limited. The process involves challenging tests that may require several hours. We maintain a high bar and only extend offers to candidates who meet our confidence threshold, which may result in roles remaining open or being reposted.
Before You Apply
If you've applied previously without an offer, we recommend waiting at least one year before reapplying. Bending Spoons is a demanding environment requiring significant commitment. For a faster ramp-up, we recommend an initial period in our Milan office, regardless of your long-term work location, to immerse yourself in the company culture and build team trust.
