VDC Engineer
Austin Commercial is seeking a talented VDC Engineer to join our Houston, Texas Division. Responsibilities
- Support Austin Commercial BIM/VDC processes on assigned projects, including on-site job support for field construction.
- Stay current with market trends and competitor activities.
- Create and revise models for site logistics, structure, architecture, and MEP/FP systems, ensuring model quality and accuracy.
- Manage model distribution and create custom model components and families.
- Develop and maintain 4D schedules and BIM/VDC coordination schedules.
- Lead conflict identification and resolution through BIM/VDC coordination efforts.
- Track and report on BIM/VDC coordination progress and efficiency, including distributing coordination meeting minutes.
- Create dimensioned drawings from models for field use and support field as-built verification.
- Validate model accuracy for quantity takeoff and assist in creation of model-based quantity surveys for estimate verification.
Requirements
- A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 1 year of project engineering experience is preferred (e.g., Intern Field Engineer, Office Engineer).
- General knowledge of construction-related BIM/VDC processes and software.
- Effective written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks.
- General understanding of construction terminology, materials, systems, drawings, specifications, planning, scheduling, sequencing, and quality control.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Sponsorship is not available.
