GEC Senior Site Investigation Estimator
This role primarily supports the SER's UK Contract Investigation team, with occasional support for other SER disciplines like Geoenvironmental. You will assist pursuit leads and project managers in developing accurate quotations and commercial measures.
Key Functions
- Collaborate with Pursuit Leads to compile accurate costing templates aligned with technical specifications and tendering requirements, primarily using UK industry standard or client-specific bills of quantities.
- Engage with Arcadis' approved supply chain to obtain project-specific quotations and ground investigation framework rate cards.
- Maintain an up-to-date database of supplier rates.
- Accurately translate bid estimates into the Arcadis Commercial Tool (ACT).
- Collaborate with Project Managers to compile accurate measures and applications for payment.
- Mentor junior GEC staff and contribute to the growth and development of the estimating function.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of industry experience in ground investigation/ground engineering.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Robust data management skills.
- Familiarity with UK industry standard ground investigation specifications (specifically UK Specification for Ground Investigations, 2nd and 3rd Editions).
- Experience working with Bills of Quantities.
- Good communication skills (written and oral English).
- Proven ability in collaborative working.
- Strong self-management skills, including adherence to bidding times and tender deadlines.
