About The Role
What if your expertise in climate modeling, ecology, or environmental science could directly shape how AI understands the planet's most complex and urgent challenges? We're looking for Climate Data Specialists to develop advanced, real-world problems that train cutting-edge AI models to reason about environmental science at an expert level.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for Masters and PhD-level environmental scientists who want to put their deep domain knowledge to work on something genuinely consequential — without leaving the flexibility of freelance behind.

- Apply your expertise to create challenging problem statements that push AI reasoning to its limits
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to refine and improve model outputs
- Evaluate the quality and scientific validity of AI-generated content across environmental science topics
- Work independently on task-based assignments at your own pace and on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Master's or PhD in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Ecology, or a closely related field
- Deep expertise in at least one of: climate modeling, ecology, environmental sustainability, or earth systems science
- Proficient in Python or R for research or data analysis
- Exceptional written communication skills — you can explain complex ideas with clarity and precision
- Detail-oriented and scientifically rigorous in everything you produce
- Self-motivated and reliable when working independently without close supervision
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
- Background in peer review, scientific writing, or academic research publication
- Familiarity with AI tools or machine learning concepts as an end user
- Experience designing or grading graduate-level coursework or research problems
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs and AI teams
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
