About the role
Regional Automation Manager
Airgas is hiring a Regional Automation Manager in Long Beach, CA. This role is focused on leading and developing automation sales strategies to drive top-line sales growth and EBITDA performance within the automation market segment. The ideal candidate will manage a team of Automation Specialists, collaborate with Area Vice Presidents, and ensure a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct, and inspire Automation Specialists to achieve sales growth and performance targets.
- Partner with Area Vice Presidents to develop short and long-term automation strategies.
- Manage automation assets and forecast future staff and equipment needs.
- Ensure effective collaboration, teamwork, and communication across the region.
- Develop P&L statements to measure growth of automation technologies and products.
- Develop local vendor partnerships and conduct sales training.
- Manage the Airgas commercial offering for all laser gases.
- Ensure training and development for the automation team aligns with market needs.
- Interface and plan with the service team for all installations.
- Ensure a safe environment at all Airgas facilities.
Qualifications:
- BS Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the welding industry, with at least 5 years managing a sales force proficient in mechanized cutting systems, robotics, and automated welding/cutting products. 15 years preferred.
- Established track record as a producer may supersede educational requirements.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Broad knowledge of robotics, cutting, and fabrication processes.
- Knowledge of automation equipment from various suppliers.
- Must be self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Good business acumen across Airgas markets.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are preferred.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Google applications is preferred.
