Position Summary
This position is responsible for significant Avionics & Cockpit Tier 1 supplier(s) and is accountable for ensuring on-time delivery and on-quality of equipment & systems for Airbus Aircraft. The Supply Chain Quality Manager is in daily contact with suppliers, their wider supply chain management team, and internal customers (located in North America and Europe). They draw on their past expertise in Industrial, Quality & Operations Management and strong relationship-building skills to problem-solve and proactively mitigate Supply Chain issues. The nature of the job requires a high level of autonomy and a strong level of soft skills, including communication.
Primary Responsibilities: Supply Chain and Quality Management (70%)
- Located to allow the role holder to act locally on-site at the supplier as required, with travel to other suppliers and Airbus offices.
- Ensure maturity and robustness of Equipment & Systems Supplier’s manufacturing and supply chain processes to avoid supply failures.
- Utilize best practices and quality management techniques to continuously improve Supply Chain related performances for deliveries of supplied products.
- Assess supplier capacity and capability to secure ramp-up period as well as Airbus industrial objectives (major planning changes, ramp down, etc.).
- Monitor and analyze performance through Key Performance Indicators and organize the surveillance of the suppliers through audits, assessments, recovery plan and mission, CID (Corrective, Improvement, Development) and industrial risks management with internal and external concerned parties.
- Appropriately monitor major industrial risks, major changes (industrial transfers, major planning changes) and support design changes on an industrial point of view in order to protect Airbus operations.
- Initiate and follow recovery or transformation plans with Suppliers in case of delivery performance degradation to ensure deliveries are back to Airbus requirements.
- Ensure Suppliers’ preventive/corrective action plans are managed and achievements are at the expected level in terms of end results.
- Prepare and support regular management reviews (PRM, Industrial Senior Management Meeting, Quality Supply Chain Meetings) with suppliers to regularly review delivery and supply chain performances and ensure that preventive/corrective & improvement actions are continuously undertaken.
Internal Stakeholder Management (20%)
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, such as MFT leaders, Programs and Final Assembly Lines (FALs). This includes communication, customer / supplier relation & meetings, and improvement actions.
Other Responsibilities (10%)
- Personal hard and soft skill training and development.
- Special projects (internal and external initiatives) and stretch assignments.
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Industrial Engineering or similar field. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar field.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 5 years professional experience in a procurement operations environment (monitoring, auditing, developing suppliers/operations) or equivalent.
- Preferred: 8+ years of relevant professional experience. Aerospace industry and/or manufacturing experience.
Licensure/Certifications:

- Preferred: Green Belt/Black Belt certification, CPIM certification (Certified in Production & Inventory Management).
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
- Required: Knowledge of Supply Chain and Quality Processes.

The job holder will be part of a team and will be able to act autonomously but driving the operational goals of the Equipment & Systems commodity (US and Europe). The management support for the Job Holder is US-based, as are the suppliers. Most internal customers will be based in Europe (and Canada). This role will manage complex and high-profile suppliers.
Organizational Information:
The job holder will be part of the Airbus Americas Procurement team, acting on behalf of (collaboration with) the Procurement Operations Equipment & Systems organization in Europe, and all Airbus FALs. No direct reports.
Nature of Contacts:
Involved, negotiation-type communication on a daily basis with internal and external parties.
Physical Requirements:
The job content requires the ability to travel via car and airplane. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and view computer monitor for long periods of time. Requires hearing and vision.
