About the role
Product Development Manager / Senior Manager (Beauty)
Leading Sephora Beauty Brand is seeking a Product Development Manager / Senior Manager to join the team on a short-term freelance basis with an immediate start. This person will bring strong experience across product development, project management, and/or packaging development, and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while partnering cross-functionally to move projects from concept through execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage product development and/or packaging development projects from kickoff through launch.
- Own timelines, milestones, deliverables, and cross-functional communication.
- Partner closely with internal teams including product development, packaging, creative, marketing, and operations.
- Help ensure projects stay on track, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.
- Coordinate with external vendors and partners as needed throughout the development process.
- Troubleshoot issues, identify risks early, and proactively recommend solutions.
- Support multiple workstreams at once while maintaining strong organization and attention to detail.
- Bring a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to a team that needs someone who can ramp up quickly.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in project management, product development, and/or packaging development.
- Prior experience in color cosmetics strongly preferred.
- Open to candidates from the broader beauty or CPG space.
- Strong understanding of timelines, approvals, and cross-functional development processes.
- Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Ability to start ASAP and step into a fast-moving environment with minimal ramp-up time.
Schedule & Location
- Hybrid schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days remote.
- Monday and Tuesday are required in-office days.
- Location: El Segundo office.
Compensation
- Estimated freelance range: $45–$65/hour.
