About this role
The Senior Project Engineer will provide technical engineering support for the design, construction, and commissioning of utility-scale battery energy storage projects. This role involves overseeing technical deliverables, collaborating with third-party engineering firms, managing supplier and contractor relationships, and assisting with project scopes and RFQ/RFP packages. What you need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus in Power Engineering
- 5 - 7+ years of experience in project engineering, development, procurement/contracting, and construction management within the power generation, utility, and transmission industries
- Experience with the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of high-voltage utility substations, switchyards, and transmission systems
- Experience leading projects in a cross functional team from initial feasibility evaluations to late-stage development, design, engineering, and construction
- Understanding of key project development elements, including real property, permitting, regulatory matters, environmental compliance, interconnection, transmission, and related areas
- Strong understanding of the battery energy storage value proposition and/or the engineering fundamentals of battery energy storage projects

- Experience working for or with a major utility
- Knowledge of and familiarity with market dynamics related to major equipment, engineering services, construction services, and labor
- Creative and independent thinker with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a diverse, fast-paced, and geographically dispersed team environment
