About this role
As an Investment Analyst at Northmarq, you will support the Debt + Equity Production teams by conducting financial analysis and underwriting for commercial real estate properties. Your responsibilities will include preparing loan request packages, coordinating pre-closing activities, managing closing processes, conducting research for lead generation, and providing high-quality client service. What you need
- Four-year college degree required with a major in real estate, finance, economics, accounting, or business area preferred
- Experience in financial analysis and/or underwriting experience specifically within commercial real estate capital markets is required
- Strong understanding of cash flow analysis and demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to calculate NOI, DSC, ROC, IRR, etc.
- Strong verbal communication skills – ability to interact effectively and professionally with a wide variety of internal/external parties
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task while under pressure and an aptitude for problem-solving
- Resourceful with a strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to have
- Proficiency in agency lending, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac underwriting, and a comprehensive understanding of various commercial real estate property types is preferred
- Strong tech knowledge and skills, including in-depth expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Knowledge of Salesforce, ARGUS, and InDesign software is a plus
