What you need

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems and/or other water-based fire protection systems
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA 25 and familiarity with NFPA 72 and Florida-adopted fire code requirements
  • Understanding of sprinkler system components, water supply arrangements, control valves, risers, fire pumps, and backflow prevention devices
  • Proficient with hand tools, test equipment, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting
  • Ability to read and interpret sprinkler drawings, riser diagrams, technical schematics, and wiring drawings

Nice to have

  • NICET Level I or higher in Water-Based Systems Layout, Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems, and/or Fire Alarm Systems
  • FASA/BASA license
  • 3+ years of fire sprinkler inspection, testing, and maintenance experience, including inspections of fire pumps, standpipe systems, and backflow assemblies
  • Experience producing deficiency reports and working directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)
