About this role
As a Peer Counselor (Core Guide) at firsthand, you will engage with individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI) to provide support and guidance on their wellness journey. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting community outreach, scheduling appointments, advocating for clients' needs, and facilitating access to resources. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure clients receive comprehensive care and support, while also participating in ongoing training and professional development.

What you need
- Lived experience with SMI and/or SUD
- State Peer Recovery certification, or eligibility and willingness to obtain certification within six (6) months of employment
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Two (2) years demonstrated recovery time from a mental health and/or substance abuse disorder
- Basic proficiency with smartphone and computer technology
- Ability to work Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
