About this role

As a Veterinary Technician on the Surgery team at VCSG, you will support surgeons and specialists in providing high-quality care to patients. Your responsibilities will include patient monitoring during procedures, handling samples for diagnostics, and maintaining surgical equipment. You will also educate clients and assist with the safe handling of animals in a fast-paced environment.

What you need

  • Orthopedic and Soft Tissue Surgery specific knowledge
  • Proficiency in anesthesia and aseptic techniques
  • Familiarity with setting up operating rooms and procedure specific equipment
  • Skilled in identifying, cleaning, sterilization, and organization of surgical instruments
  • Strong understanding of sterile techniques and sample handling for cultures, biopsies, cytologies, etc
  • Proficient in identifying anesthetic problems before they become critical/emergent

  • Credentialed veterinary technicians preferred
  • 2-3 years of veterinary technician experience (specialty experience strongly preferred)
  • Availability for scheduled on-call shifts
