What you need

  • 8–12+ years of legal experience, ideally including meaningful time in-house at a technology or healthcare technology company
  • J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in New York or another U.S. jurisdiction
  • Deep experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts: SaaS SOWs, MSAs, BAAs, vendor agreements, and partnership structures
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare data privacy
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and making sound risk calls without perfect information or a full playbook
  • Ability to make complex legal concepts clear and actionable for non-legal stakeholders at every level of the organization

Nice to have

  • Experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical, or digital health environments
  • Familiarity with state privacy law (CCPA, CPRA) and evolving AI/data governance frameworks
  • Experience supporting fundraising rounds, equity management, or board governance
  • Prior experience as a company's first or sole in-house counsel

What you get

  • 100% paid employee health benefit options (including medical, dental, and vision)
  • 401(k) with employer funded match
  • Unlimited Vacation
  • Commuter Benefits
  • Paid parental leave
  • Catered lunch on Fridays

Worth weighing

  • Role is the first legal hire, which may involve building from the ground up
  • The company is in a high-growth phase, which can lead to a fast-paced and potentially ambiguous work environment
  • No specific mention of remote work options beyond flexibility as needed
  • Salary range is broad, and final compensation is based on various factors, which may lead to uncertainty in negotiations
