What you need

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of professional mechanical design experience taking physical hardware from initial concept through fabrication and functional test.
  • High proficiency in parametric 3D CAD (SolidWorks, NX, or Creo) and modern PLM/PDM environments (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings and practical application of ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Demonstrated hands-on prototyping and fabrication skills with a track record of root-causing manufacturing and hardware defects.
  • Strong foundation in engineering first principles (statics, dynamics, material selection, heat transfer, and structural mechanics).

Nice to have

  • Experience with naval ordnance, warheads, energetic materials, DoD weapons safety boards, high-rate dynamic modeling, or live-fire arena testing.
  • Experience designing tightly integrated electromechanical systems (dense PCBA packaging, active/passive thermal management, RF/EMI shielding, harness routing).
  • Deep expertise in tooling design, high-volume injection molding, robotic/manual weldment design, structural bonding, or building visual standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance (DoD Secret, Top Secret, or DOE Q).
  • Willingness to travel for field/range testing when required (up to 25% for Lethality workstreams).

What you get

  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees.
  • Highly competitive equity grants included in the majority of full-time offers.

Worth weighing

  • No specific information on the technology stack or tools beyond CAD software is provided.
  • Salary range is broad and may vary significantly based on experience and skills.
  • Role involves potential travel for testing, which may not suit all candidates.
