Red Butte Garden and Arboretum, a prominent botanical institution in the Intermountain West, is seeking a Plant Records Program Assistant to support its Horticulture Department. This role involves assisting with botanical research, data entry, and various administrative and plant-related tasks. Responsibilities
- Scan invoices and documents and file them appropriately.
- Assist with word processing and data entry.
- Conduct plant data research.
- Perform photo editing and labeling.
- Undertake outdoor tasks such as photography, bloom date collection, plant label placement, and garden inventory and mapping.
- Assemble, clean, and organize plant labels.
- May assist with greenhouse tasks and inventory.
- Use microscopes for basic plant observation and hands-on learning.
Minimum Qualifications
An equivalency statement is provided: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (e.g., a bachelor's degree equals 4 years of experience).
The department may hire at one of the following job levels:
- Program Assistant I: Requires little to no related experience.
- Program Assistant II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
