About the role
Program Coordinator - ACES Program
The Assertive Community Engagement & Success (ACES) program seeks a Program Coordinator to support its expansion into Brooklyn and Queens. This role is ideal for a team member who believes young people, despite facing significant challenges like violence, trauma, racism, gangs, incarceration, truancy, and unemployment, can thrive with positive relationships and skill development. This is a full-time, project-based position with an anticipated tenure of 2 years, requiring significant in-person and in-community work.
About the ACES Program
The ACES program serves young men aged 16-24 in Harlem or the Bronx. It aims to help these individuals overcome challenging environments and system involvement to achieve success. Participants often navigate cultures of violence and high-risk behaviors, and they voluntarily engage with the ACES program.
Work Schedule and Location
- Shift Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Salary: $75,000 per year
- Location: 4 West 125th Street, New York, N.Y. 10027, and various ACES Program locations. The office is easily accessible by public transportation.
- Workplace Flexibility: Primarily in-person and community-based work.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and manage expansion plans for new service areas.
- Create project timelines, work plans, and implementation schedules.
- Participate in site selection processes and launch activities.
- Act as a cross-departmental liaison with internal teams (Quality, Evaluation, Data & Analytics, Facilities) to ensure project goal alignment.
- Coordinate phases of program expansion, including community assessments, stakeholder engagement, staffing, and service delivery.
- Ensure expansion activities align with program and organizational goals.
- Represent the organization at community events and coalition meetings.
- Promote culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices during program implementation.
- Support the development and standardization of operating procedures, policies, and implementation tools.
- Oversee the day-to-day coordination of new site launches and program implementation.
- Participate in program expansion meetings.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, trainings, site visits, and community events.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, project management, criminal justice, or a related field.
- At least three (3) years of related work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Monday.com, or similar).
- Excellent critical-thinking, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.
- Experience working with diverse communities and community-based organizations.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills
- Post-bachelor’s certificate in project management-related skills is preferred.
