About the role
HubSpot Solution Architect at Pyxis Growth Partners
Pyxis Growth Partners is seeking a highly technical HubSpot Solution Architect to take ownership of complex technical challenges within our delivery team. This role is critical for solving custom integrations, complex builds, and issues that go beyond out-of-the-box HubSpot capabilities. You will serve as a technical resource, dropping into engagements during discovery, solution design, and complex builds, rather than owning a single account long-term.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the most technical work across the portfolio, serving as the technical escalation point for complex HubSpot implementations.
- Lead the architecture and solution-design phase for complex engagements, creating requirements and architecture documentation.
- Design and build solutions beyond standard HubSpot configuration, including custom APIs, serverless functions, CRM development tools, UI extensions, and custom-coded workflow actions.
- Translate client business goals into technical specifications for the delivery team.
- Drive client alignment and sign-off on technical solutions before build begins.
- Lead integration design for systems involving HubSpot and adjacent platforms (billing, finance, product, data warehouse, support tools), recommending appropriate approaches (native, middleware, custom API, hybrid).
- Clearly explain technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Utilize middleware platforms (Zapier, Celigo, Make, n8n, etc.) and API testing tools (Postman) effectively.
- Partner with sales on technically complex presales opportunities, joining discovery and scoping conversations to validate feasibility and build prospect confidence.
- Help shape Statements of Work (SOWs) and scopes for technically ambitious engagements.
- Level up the team by documenting architectures, patterns, and decisions, and coaching consultants on integration patterns and API basics.
- Stay current on HubSpot platform updates and pilot new capabilities to bring reusable patterns back to the team.
- Utilize modern developer tooling, including AI-assisted coding tools, to enhance delivery quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
Must-haves
- 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing or extending HubSpot, or a comparable B2B CRM/marketing platform, for multiple organizations.
- Experience designing and building integrations between SaaS platforms.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs, including authentication, rate limits, pagination, webhooks, and error handling.
- Proficiency with Postman or equivalent tools.
- Comfort with at least one major middleware platform (e.g., Zapier, Celigo, Make, n8n).
- Ability to clearly explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical clients and prospects.
- Comfort joining client-facing or prospect-facing conversations and representing the technical side of the work.
- Strong technical writing skills (requirements docs, architecture diagrams, decision logs).
- Experience leading discovery sessions and driving client sign-off on technical solutions.
- A solutions mindset – ability to find alternative ways to achieve goals when standard methods don't apply.
- Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor).
- Experience with HubSpot’s developer platform (custom-coded workflow actions, serverless functions, UI extensions, CRM development tools, custom cards).
- Experience writing or reviewing JavaScript, Python, or similar for integration and automation.
- Exposure to data warehouses, reverse ETL, or CDPs (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Hightouch, Census, Segment).
- HubSpot certifications (especially developer-track or solutions architect).
- Prior consulting or agency experience.
This role is not a fit if you:
- Are primarily a software engineer looking for a pure development role.
- Have used HubSpot mainly as an end-user rather than implementing, extending, or integrating it.
- Are uncomfortable joining client-facing or prospect-facing conversations.
- Prefer to work narrowly inside one platform and avoid the messy edges where systems connect.
- Want to own a small set of client relationships end-to-end.
- Are located outside the United States.

Behavioral questions
Frequently asked questions
- What are the primary technical challenges for a HubSpot Solution Architect at Pyxis Growth Partners?
- The primary technical challenges involve designing and building solutions beyond standard HubSpot configuration. This includes creating custom APIs, serverless functions, UI extensions, and complex integrations with adjacent SaaS platforms. You'll be the go-to expert for custom, integrated, or complex problems that out-of-the-box solutions cannot address.
- What is the expected time allocation between client delivery and presales support for this role?
- The role is structured with approximately 75% of your time dedicated to client delivery, focusing on complex implementation and solution design. The remaining 25% will be allocated to presales support, where you'll join calls with the CEO to help scope technically complex opportunities and build prospect confidence.
- What specific middleware platforms and API tools are important for a HubSpot Solution Architect at Pyxis Growth Partners?
- Proficiency with at least one major middleware platform such as Zapier, Celigo, Make, n8n, or similar is crucial. Additionally, strong working knowledge of REST APIs and proficiency with tools like Postman for testing, documenting, and validating API integrations are essential for this role.
- How does Pyxis Growth Partners support continuous learning and professional development for their HubSpot Solution Architects?
- Pyxis Growth Partners offers ongoing professional education and certification support. They encourage staying current on HubSpot platform updates, especially developer tooling, and piloting new capabilities. You'll also have opportunities to document and share reusable patterns, contributing to the team's collective knowledge.
- What makes this HubSpot Solution Architect role different from a generalist consulting or pure software engineering role?
- This role is distinctly focused on the most technical aspects of HubSpot and its integrations, serving as a deep technical backstop. Unlike generalist consultants, you won't own long-term client relationships. Unlike pure software engineers, the focus is on extending and integrating HubSpot, not solely building standalone applications, and requires comfort with client-facing technical discussions.
- Can I work remotely as a HubSpot Solution Architect if I am outside the United States?
- No, this position is fully remote within the United States only. Pyxis Growth Partners is unable to sponsor international applicants for this role, and candidates must have authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
