About the role
Operations Manager
POOLCORP is seeking an Operations Manager to direct and coordinate activities involved in procuring products for sales and distribution at our SPP Distributors - 402A - Houston, TX location.
What You Will Do
- Hire, train, direct, and manage all warehouse staff, including associates and drivers.
- Review and manage open sales orders, purchase orders, vendor claims, and transfers.
- Ensure proper warehouse safety procedures are followed and review warehouse procedures.
- Consult with regional buyers and/or vendors to obtain product information, pricing, availability, and delivery schedules.
- Manage inventory, control stock outs, and reduce excessive inventory through cycle counts.
- Manage freight expense and approve invoices/freight bills for payment.
- Handle Accounts Payable discrepancies and supervise the proper routing, loading, and preparation of orders for shipment.
- Train new employees on warehouse and distribution procedures.
- Discuss and resolve issues with defective or unacceptable goods or services with relevant parties.
- Support sales staff in meeting sales objectives.
What You Will Need
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of operations experience in industrial distribution or warehouse environment.
- Operations responsibility for a $5-10 Million wholesale warehouse facility.
- Experience managing a team of 5+ employees.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Inventory Management software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of industrial product lines is helpful.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
