Job Overview
This job is responsible for developing and executing strategic and tactical sales plans to drive profitable revenue growth and increase market share. Employees in this role must meet annual sales targets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborates with marketing, operations, legal, finance, and other key stakeholders to improve customer acquisition, service, and retention.
- Prospects new commercial, industrial, and government customers through targeted outreach.
- Builds and expands customer relationships to maximize long-term account growth.
- Develops new business opportunities while creating and maintaining a strong sales pipeline.
- Enters logged calls and notation in CRM.
- Achieves individual acquisition sales goals set by Sales Leadership.
- Develops pricing opportunities to achieve sales margins and meet goals.
- Sells fixed, index, variable, and complex structured energy products to commercial and industrial customers through contractual agreements.
- Ensures contracts are processed in accordance with department guidelines.
- Obtains customer usage and, when applicable, competitor contract details to ensure accurate pricing.
- Gathers all necessary details from customers to support the credit approval process.
- Communicates activities with Sales Leader and provides periodic reports.
- Communicates effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve issues related to pricing, contracting, billing, and service.
- Manages time and appointments efficiently.
- Utilizes a variety of lead generation techniques.
- Generates and presents natural gas sales proposals by providing market analysis and risk management solutions to clients.
- Ensures proper controls and compliance in accordance with corporate policy and procedures.
- Provides accurate forecasting pipeline information to Sales Leader.
- Actively participates in sales trainings, team events, and company initiatives.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
This role requires up to 25% travel.
Channel Partner Focus
The role is focused on driving revenue by promoting and growing the use of company products through partners. The position helps partners resolve issues throughout a project lifecycle and participates in the joint development of marketing and sales strategies. The position will have specific sales as well as account management targets and will be expected to perform to achieve quotas.
Channel Partner Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Drives channel partners to meet or exceed business goals.
- Forecasts on weekly, monthly, and quarterly intervals and manages business to achievement of sales goals and objectives.
- Delivers training and effective coaching to partners.
- Monitors progression on sales pipelines, troubleshoots issues, intervenes, and drives results through influencing behaviors.
- Collaborates with the sales and account management team and internal, cross-functional parties in support of partner success.
- Harvests new relationships, develops existing business, and possesses the talent to sell at all levels of an organization.
