About the role
Paralegal - Labor and Employment
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm, is seeking Paralegals for its Labor & Employment Practice Group. This role reports to the Manager of Legal Practice Support and involves working directly with partners, associates, and other paralegals. The position is critical for legal research, document preparation, case and project management, client communication, and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Document and database maintenance, including managing electronic data collections, searching, analyzing data with computer-assisted review technologies, and collaborating with vendors and IT groups.
- Reviewing and preparing documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Assisting with discovery requests and productions, including Bates labeling, redacting information, organizing productions, and creating production logs.
- Drafting, proofing, editing, and filing court documents using eFile systems.
- Subpoena preparation and service of process.
- Cite-checking and Bluebooking briefs, memorandums, and white papers.
- Creating tables of authority and tables of contents for court filings.
- Tracking and communicating case-related dates and information, ensuring proper calendaring with the Firm’s Litigation Docketing Department.
- Assisting with witness preparation and assembling binders/folders for depositions and trials.
- Assembling and tracking deposition, hearing, and trial exhibits.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1–4 years of experience in a litigation environment, preferably with labor and employment law.
- Prior experience in a law firm, legal, or other client service environment is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF software.
- Familiarity with iManage is a plus.
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands.
- Understanding of litigation support systems such as WestLaw, WestLaw Case Notebook, Lexis/Nexis, and Relativity is strongly desired.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Interest in pursuing a career within the legal or business community.
