About the role
Paralegal - Labor and Employment
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a leading global law firm, is seeking Paralegals for its Labor & Employment Practice Group. This role offers a critical opportunity to work directly with partners, associates, and other paralegals, playing a vital part in legal research, document preparation, case management, client communication, and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage electronic data document collections, including searching, analyzing data using computer-assisted review technologies, and communicating with data custodians.
- Review and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
- Assist with discovery requests and productions, including Bates labeling, redacting information, organizing productions, and creating production logs.
- Support the drafting, proofing, editing, and filing of court documents using eFile systems.
- Handle subpoena preparation and service of process.
- Cite-check and Bluebook briefs and other legal documents.
- Create tables of authority and tables of contents for court filings.
- Track and communicate case-related dates and information, ensuring proper calendaring with the Litigation Docketing Department.
- Assist with witness preparation and the assembly of binders/folders for depositions and trials.
- Assemble and track deposition, hearing, and trial exhibits.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 1–4 years of experience in a litigation environment, preferably with labor and employment law.
- Prior experience in a law firm, legal, or other client service environment is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF software.
- Familiarity with iManage is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a team environment.
- Capacity to adapt to change and balance competing demands.
- Understanding of litigation support systems such as WestLaw, WestLaw Case Notebook, Lexis/Nexis, and Relativity is strongly desired.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Interest in pursuing a career in the legal or business community.
