About The Role
We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the Subscription Management component of our platform. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, guiding a cross-functional squad to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
You’ll Work Closely With Product Managers, Designers, And Engineers To Build And Evolve The Rails That Enable Banks To Communicate With Merchants Through Our System. While Your Primary Focus Will Be Subscription Management, You’ll Also Need a Solid Understanding Of The Broader System, Which Includes:
- Subscription Identification – deriving subscriptions from transaction data
- Workflow Tools – interfaces for monitoring and managing subscriptions
What You’ll Do
- Lead a cross-functional squad of engineers, ensuring delivery and quality
- Contribute to system architecture and write high-quality Java code (with occasional Scala)
- Collaborate across teams to ensure seamless integration with other system components
- Champion engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and observability
- Mentor team members and foster an inclusive, growth-oriented environment
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in backend development with Java (Scala is a plus, not required)
- Proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver complex projects
- Solid understanding of distributed systems and API design
- Experience working in cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, QA)
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively
- Passion for building inclusive, user-centered software
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, banking integrations, or subscription systems
- Familiarity with observability tools and performance optimization
