The Opportunity
In this role, you will:
- Actively participate in the tender/bid process from documentation through analysis and reporting.
- Manage the change management process, identifying, analyzing, approving, and implementing cost-affecting changes.
- Analyze tenders/bids to ensure client value for money.
- Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts, including handling claims for best client value.
- Create estimates and cost plans for key client developments.
- Oversee project spend through valuations and cost reports, communicating variations clearly.
- Support nimble project management and clear decisions with excellent cost documentation and timely communication.
- Support the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims with transparency.
- Foster top performance and growth for employees through mentorship and leadership.
What We're Looking For:
- Experience as a Senior Cost Manager, ideally from a consultancy background.
- Experience working on High Rise commercial construction projects.
- Proficiency in pre-contract cost management, budget control, cost planning, and preparing change forms.
- Knowledge of alternative construction materials.
- Chartered status or actively pursuing it (support provided).
- A degree or comparable experience in a project management or construction discipline.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing priorities and deadlines.
- Skill in building strong relationships with team and clients through openness and fun.
Work Environment:
The preferred candidate will be local to the New York area and comfortable with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite/2 days remote). This role supports a remote candidate in the surrounding eastern region, with up to 25% travel to project sites in New York, NY.
