Trade Compliance Director, Export Controls & Classification
Make a global impact. Lead an enterprise-wide Jurisdiction & Classification (JC) program within a complex, multinational technology manufacturing organization. Partner closely with engineering, product, and business leaders to drive compliant movement of advanced technologies across global markets.
As the JC subject matter expert, you'll establish global consistency, influence product development, and strengthen compliance processes across a diverse portfolio. This role sits within corporate trade compliance, with ownership of JC strategy, oversight of determinations, and leadership of a distributed global stakeholder network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and evolve the global JC program across business units
- Interpret and apply export control regulations (ITAR, EAR, global regimes)
- Lead JC processes, training, and governance frameworks
- Oversee classification quality and support CJ filings
- Partner cross-functionally to embed compliance into product lifecycle
- Provide reporting, metrics, and audit support
- Support investigations, M&A activity, and broader compliance initiatives
Requirements:
- 8+ years in export controls / JC determinations
- Deep knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and related regulations
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
