Huron’s Enterprise Solutions team is comprised of business minded technology professionals responsible for the ongoing optimization of our Workday ecosystem through product strategy, solution delivery, and operational support. The Associate Workday Developer partners closely with HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Finance stakeholders to design, configure, and support scalable Workday solutions that drive efficiency and deliver measurable business outcomes. This role is ideal for an early career Workday professional who is building technical depth in the Payroll, Time Tracking and Absence modules while developing strong product, delivery, and customer focused skills.Key Responsibilities: Workday Product Development & Support
- Operate as an Associate Workday Developer supporting Workday HCM with a primary focus on Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence.
- Configure and optimize Workday business processes, calculations, and module functionality to meet evolving business needs.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment of weekly and bi‑annual Workday releases, including researching enhancements via Workday Community.
- Partner with Product Owners, Workday Leads, and functional SMEs to translate business requirements into workable Workday solutions.
- Troubleshoot system issues, analyze root causes, and support end users with timely resolution.
- Prepare and manage Excel files and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) loads for mass data changes.
- Own or support QA, data stewardship, execution, and reconciliation of EIBs for processes such as year‑end accrual changes and regulatory updates.
- Assist with data loads associated with special initiatives such as acquisitions, business development, or organizational changes.
- Work closely with PSA, Finance, Reporting, Integrations, Security, and HR teams to ensure solutions are accurate, scalable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
- Communicate effectively with business partners, explaining technical concepts and options in clear, practical terms.

Job Requirements
- At least 3-5 years of experience in the areas of Workday Payroll is required. Candidates with less experience may also be considered if they demonstrate strong hands-on Workday Payroll configuration skills, solid business knowledge or equivalent experience, and the ability to quickly learn and adopt complex systems.
- Detailed experience with, and understanding of, Workday’s Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) platform and schema.
- Functional experience with the ownership, QA, and execution of mass data changes/uploads strongly preferred.
- Strong Excel skills. While most of the work will be in Workday, strong Excel skills are necessary for periodic data loads into Workday.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written, and the interpersonal skills needed quickly to establish relationships of trust and collaboration. Being able to translate business requirements into technical solutions, talk through options, and help eliminate roadblocks.
- Workday training and/or certifications are desirable but not required.
Location & Compensation
- Flexible living locations, Remote role with 1/week a year for onsite meetings.
- The estimated base salary for this job is $75,000 - $95,000. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $86,250 - $109,250. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future.
