Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between patients and providers, ensuring efficient patient flow, and maintaining a high standard of care. This role involves direct patient interaction, clinical support, and administrative tasks within an orthopedic and spine surgery setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
- Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, and review intake paperwork.
- Prepare patients for visits, including pulling radiology images and assisting with procedures.
- Accurately enter data into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Assist providers with prescriptions and completing medical forms.
- Manage provider EMR desktops and ensure timely responses to voicemails.
- Maintain exam room standards, including restocking and cleaning.
- Ensure patient education is provided as directed by the provider.
- Promote a positive patient experience and maintain a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Minimum Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management is preferred.
- Alternatively, a recent graduate (within 12-18 months) of a formal Medical Assistant training program with CMA certification, or grandfathered in per State regulation.
- Must pass the MA competency exam within the first six months of employment.
- Active Medical Assistant certification (e.g., RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA) from a recognized organization (e.g., AMT, AAMA, NHA, NCCT), meeting specific testing date requirements if applicable.
- Experience with office medical procedures, treatments, insurance, managed care, EMR, and scheduling software.
- Certification or additional training must meet meaningful use requirements.
- BLS certification is required.
- High school diploma/GED and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program.
