As a Senior Windows Server Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful. You will:

• Contribute to the completion of major engineering programs and projects.
• Develop solutions to a variety of highly complex Windows/Linux engineering problems.
• Perform highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
• Oversee highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
• Perform highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
• Perform continual maintenance and provide highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
• Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve current processes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.
• May serve as a team or task lead.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Education: Bachelor's degree not required. Additional experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a Bachelor's, an additional four (4) years of related experience.
• Experience: 8+ years of related experience.
• Technical Skills:
• Demonstrated Operations experience with Windows OS including administration, management, and troubleshooting.
• Experience utilizing security tools (Qualys) to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Experience with VMware virtual environment.
• Experience with Cloud platforms Azure and OCI.
• Understanding of proactive monitoring concepts.
• Experience with patching and maintaining server builds.
• Ability to monitor and diagnose Windows server issues.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the following infrastructure principles: Scalability and Capacity planning, Backup/Recovery.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/software issues, restore the environment to an operational state with minimal downtime, perform root cause analysis and provide a forward leaning mitigation strategy.
• Participate in On-Call support rotation.
• Linux experience and skills desired.

Salary Information

The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
