As a Senior Windows Server Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful. You will:
- Contribute to the completion of major engineering programs and projects.
- Develop solutions to a variety of highly complex Windows/Linux engineering problems.
- Perform highly complex systems design, development, and integration from the start of a systems life cycle to the end.
- Oversee highly complex infrastructure including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Perform highly complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Perform continual maintenance and provide highly complex solutions for security, backup, and redundancy problems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
- Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and work with management to evolve current processes.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals.
- May serve as a team or task lead.
What You’ll Need To Succeed

- Education: Bachelor's degree not required. Additional experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a Bachelor's, an additional four (4) years of related experience.
- Experience: 8+ years of related experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated Operations experience with Windows OS including administration, management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience utilizing security tools (Qualys) to monitor and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Experience with VMware virtual environment.
- Experience with Cloud platforms Azure and OCI.
- Understanding of proactive monitoring concepts.
- Experience with patching and maintaining server builds.
- Ability to monitor and diagnose Windows server issues.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the following infrastructure principles: Scalability and Capacity planning, Backup/Recovery.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware/software issues, restore the environment to an operational state with minimal downtime, perform root cause analysis and provide a forward leaning mitigation strategy.
- Participate in On-Call support rotation.
- Linux experience and skills desired.

Salary Information
The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
