Summary
As a Technical Sales Engineer for Water and Wastewater Engineered Systems, you will gain hands-on experience working directly with engineers during the design and construction phases of treatment projects. You will build strong customer relationships, understand their needs, and provide effective solutions. This role involves customer site visits, preparing quotes and proposals, equipment sizing and selection, troubleshooting, and delivering technical solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong mechanical and technical background, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist in project design and the development of plans and specifications.
- Travel to various project and job sites as needed.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and developing new customer opportunities; consistently deliver exceptional service and support.
- Equipment Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to clients, including installation guidance, troubleshooting, locating technical documentation, and offering product maintenance recommendations. Includes on-site equipment startup services.
- Provide construction engineering support and prepare required project documentation.
- Develop and provide assembly instructions for contractors and owners.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to identify, develop, and support new opportunities for general repair and service work.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and product feedback.
- Serve as a liaison with contractors, subcontractors, and municipal/city staff, providing general oversight and coordination as needed.
Qualifications
- 3 years of previous experience with water and wastewater treatment equipment.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and documents.
- Mechanical aptitude and technical knowledge of pump, air, and/or hydraulic systems and applications preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and active listening skills for working effectively within a team and understanding client needs.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Proficient in internet and computer usage.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Proficient in email communication.
- Organization of electronic files.
- Ability to use and manage a digital calendar.
- Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record according to company guidelines.
Additional Information
- Pay Range: $60,000-$100,000 (DOE) + Commission
- Physical Demand: N/A
- Working Conditions: Ability to work in extended outdoor conditions on various types of terrain for construction observation duties.

- Shift Time/Overtime: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm
- Travel: Ability to travel as required for customer site visits, meetings, training, and industry events.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment.
