About the Role
Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our growing team! This role ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions. How You Will Contribute
- Enter, balance, and post all daily cash, ACH, check, and credit card deposits.
- Generate and send out customer requests for information, including follow-up requests.
- Review and process customer files.
- Generate and send out customer invoices.
- Generate age analysis and review AR aging to ensure compliance.
- Follow up with customers regarding open balances via account statements and payment reminders.
- Perform new customer credit checks and establish customer payment terms.
- Support the month-end and year-end close process.
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, reconciling transactions, and resolving discrepancies.
Skills & Experience To Be Successful
- BS degree in Accounting/Finance (preferred)
- 2+ years of corporate accounting experience in a relevant industry
- Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Awareness of business trends
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, such as QuickBooks
- Advanced MS Excel skills including SUMIF’s and VLOOKUP’s
