About the role
Territory Sales Manager
Applied Fluid Power is seeking a Territory Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and manage sales functions within their assigned territory. This role involves developing and implementing comprehensive sales strategies, analyzing market trends, and leading a team of outside sales professionals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share growth within the assigned territory.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify business opportunities.
- Set and monitor sales targets, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Continuously evaluate and refine the sales approach to align with market dynamics.
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of 6-10 outside sales professionals to ensure they meet or exceed sales revenue and gross margin targets.
- Provide leadership, motivation, and mentorship to the sales team to foster a high-performance culture.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understand their needs and providing solutions that align with our product and service offerings.
- Collaborate with the sales team to address customer concerns and provide exceptional customer service.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for market expansion within the territory.
- Work closely with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotional activities.
- Develop and manage sales forecasts, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to the Regional Manager and Executive Team members.
- Develop and manage the sales budget for the territory.
- Monitor and control expenses to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related field.
- Proven experience as a successful sales manager in the industrial distribution sector.
- Strong understanding of industrial products and services, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed business decisions.
- Excellent leadership and team-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Able to travel within the assigned territory as needed.
- Certified Fluid Power Specialist preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
