Regional Sales Manager - Apogee Architectural Metals
Apogee Architectural Metals is seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead and develop our sales team within a designated geographic territory. The primary goal of this role is to meet or exceed the organization's financial objectives through effective sales strategies and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Directly lead and manage a team of Independent and Direct Sales Representatives.
- Recruit, train, and motivate the sales and estimating team to achieve company sales and marketing objectives.
- Coach, mentor, and develop sales representatives to enhance their effectiveness and meet sales goals.
- Manage sales representatives within the territory by setting clear expectations, measuring activities, and assessing results.
Strategic Program and Project Management
- Participate in or lead process improvement initiatives.
- Manage business development activities, including identifying prospective customers, influencers, representatives, and sales channels.
- Develop and implement plans to increase market share, improve positioning, and boost sales and profitability for the region.
- Drive the sales development process to identify ideal customers and projects, maximizing resource utilization and prioritizing opportunities that align with our premium brand.
- Lead regional efforts to identify and onboard strong distribution partners to service smaller customer opportunities.
Sales
- Act as the voice of the customer within the organization, providing market input to Estimating, Marketing, and Engineering teams.
- Serve as the primary liaison with internal partners including Estimating, Marketing, and Engineering.
- Actively engage with key accounts and provide assistance to Sales Representatives as needed.
- Assist the Sales Director as required.
- Ensure adherence to Salesforce usage for project, customer, and opportunity tracking.
Experience & Skills
Education
- BA in Marketing, Business Management/Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the commercial fenestration industry with a solid technical understanding of storefront, curtainwall, and window systems and applications, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years of sales management experience, or related management experience.
- Minimum 3 years of background in architectural promotion and training is preferred.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of construction documents, details, sketches, and design technical manuals.
- CDT accreditation with the Construction Specifications Institute is preferred.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with demonstrated superior client orientation.
- Excellent analytical and strong people skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance.
- Valid driver’s license, without restrictions, to meet extensive travel requirements.
- Ability and willingness to lead and develop others.
- Highly motivated and able to attain results in previous positions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Consensus builder, capable of building relationships at multiple levels within the organization and markets.

Work Environment/Travel Requirements
This role involves extended periods of office work, including computer use and team meetings. Overnight travel is expected 50%-75% of the time, with an additional 3-4 trips per year for team meetings and training.

- Ability to work in an office environment.
- May lift general office supplies up to 10 pounds from table height and carry up to 50 feet.
- At jobsites or mock-ups, may have to lift up to 75 pounds.
