About the role
Senior Solution Engineer
This opportunity is for a Senior Solution Engineer to lead complex technical evaluations for strategic customers and prospects. The role focuses on technical discovery, architecture design, solution workshops, product demonstrations, proofs of concept, and value-based technical guidance for modern API, integration, and cloud-native environments. This is a customer-facing technical role that connects customer business challenges, technical requirements, and scalable solution design. The position works closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to support new opportunities, renewals, expansions, and long-term customer success. Candidates should be able to work PST or CST hours.
What You’ll Do
- Own complex technical evaluations for strategic new and existing accounts.
- Lead technical discovery, solution workshops, and solution design sessions.
- Evaluate customer APIs, architectures, constraints, and technical requirements.
- Translate customer needs into clear required capabilities and technical win plans.
- Design and present multi-system solution architectures for modern cloud-native environments.
- Show how supergraph, GraphOS, and related tooling can fit into customer environments.
- Create future-ready architecture paths that align with customer systems and implementation needs.
- Lead value-focused product demonstrations and proofs of concept.
- Translate complex technical capabilities into clear business outcomes for developers, architects, product leaders, executives, and C-suite stakeholders.
- Anticipate and resolve technical blockers related to security, compliance, integration, and performance.
- Build customer confidence that the solution can work effectively in their environment.
- Partner with account executives on value-based selling and deal strategy.
- Act as a trusted advisor throughout the customer account lifecycle.
- Share structured field insights with Product and Engineering to support roadmap and positioning decisions.
- Create reusable reference architectures, playbooks, patterns, and technical assets for broader team use.
- Mentor junior Solutions Engineers and share best practices across the team.
- Use AI-assisted workflows and tools to improve discovery, architecture design, demos, and proof-of-concept execution.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in pre-sales Solutions Engineering or an equivalent technical customer-facing role.
- Experience as a sales engineer, field engineer, customer engineer, architect, or similar technical role.
- Experience working with complex B2B SaaS or infrastructure products.
- Deep domain expertise in APIs and integration.
- Experience working with teams that build APIs and teams that consume APIs.
- Experience integrating solutions into existing architectures and tool stacks, including CI/CD, observability, cloud systems, and API gateways.
- Strong architecture and integration skills across modern web and cloud technology stacks.
- Comfort discussing REST, GraphQL, microservices, identity, security, and data flows.
- Ability to design multi-system architectures that can be implemented in real-world environments.
- Proven ability to own complex technical evaluations from discovery through technical win.
- Experience with solution design, PoC implementation guidance, objection handling, and enterprise or upper-mid-market technical evaluations.
- Strong executive-level communication and storytelling skills.
- Ability to move between deep technical detail and clear business value for technical and executive audiences.
- Ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
- Fluency in sales process and value-based selling.
- Comfort working with MEDDPICC, account executives, customer success teams, and team-based selling motions.
